Rodeo season has hit Houston and it officially started this past weekend with the Cook-Off. Even though I was at the Thrive Blog Conference it didn’t stop me from showing some rodeo spirit for the day.
Charming Charlie sponsored my Thrive Tribe and I this weekend with dresses, travel kits and the fabulous Wallaby Bag. We will have a fun giveaway this Thursday that includes one of the Wallaby bags and one of the travel kit jewelry organizers, so make sure to watch out for that post.
This sponsored Charming Charlie dress was perfect to rock my rodeo style and for my 9 month baby bump. I love that it is flowy and fun and adding a cute nude belt really made my bump stand out that much more. Since conferences tend to be cold I couldn’t forget to add a denim jacket and layer on my Charming Charlie accessories as well…we all know how much I love them!!

One month ago I celebrated such a wonderful day with tons of my closest family and friends for my baby shower for Sofia Everly. I had been planning this event for around 3 months, and the fact that it was here and I only had 7 weeks until my daughter would arrive make it extremely excited and anxious.
We ended up having the event at the Houston Height’s Woman’s Club because it allowed us to have a gorgeous space that I could decorate any way I wanted. I had a complete theme in my head of how I wanted my daughter’s baby shower from before she was born, and this allowed me to do everything I had always dreamed off..Pinterest didn’t help that addiction. 🙂
My favorite colors are blush pink and ivory, so when thinking of my daughter’s baby shower I knew I wanted to incorporate those colors in some shape of form. I have always been drawn to the shabby chic style, and for this event there was no exception.
Since I am pretty picky when it comes to what I like and want, I did most of the planning and decorating on my own. For around a month prior I started purchasing items slowly, bringing my whole thought process to life and completely taking over the dining room kitchen. From chalk painting tons of mason jars, hot gluing paper flowers on tulle, to setting up sample tables and centerpieces, I was on a total roll.
Some of my favorite parts of the shower were the 3 stations that I had setup for my guests. My favorite was a headband making station for Sofia Everly. The guests could choose what month range they wanted and decorate a headband to their choosing; another Pinterest idea I was obsessed with. The other two were completely fun; one was where everyone had to a message on a diaper to get my husband and I through the long nights of diaper changes and the third was a cute sheet that they could write “advice for mom”.
I also loved some of the games we got play, like guessing how big my belly was, it’s so funny seeing how many people thought I was bigger than I actually was. 😉 Then who could draw the best baby on a plate on top of their heads. So much fun!!
Most importantly I want to say thank all my family and friends for coming out and sharing in this extremely special moment with my husband and I. We feel extremely blessed and know that Sofia Everly is loved more than she could ever imagine. ❤

Thank you for following!!!
Last week I was lucky enough to meet up with the my fellow blogger babes Dawn from Dawn P. Darnell, Shelbi from It’s All Chic To Me, and Dede from Dress Up Buttercup who I will be rooming with at the Thrive Blog Conference that starts tonight. It will be my first conference as a blogger and I am extremely excited for two days of fun filled events and learning as much as I possibly can to build stylethegirl.
During our shoot we each focused on working one of the 2016 Pantone Spring colors from the Fashion Color Report, and I think we looked absolutely fabulous! 🙂

When I heard the motto for the Thrive Blog Conference I instantly fell in love. I knew that even if I was going to be 9 months pregnant, it was an event that I could not miss.
When one blogger thrives we all thrive! When you see a blogger having success then you need to be cheering them on because they are paving the way for all the rest of us. Their success is making it that much easier for you to be able to approach sponsors, brands and companies you want to work with. We don’t tear each other apart here, we are all working together to make each dream a reality.
I look forward to building my “brand”, learning as much as possible, curating what I have started, and building connections that will help me blossom. 🙂
So am I ready to THRIVE…YES I AM!!!!
Make sure to watch out for next week’s post on where I will have a recap of the top 5 things I learned from the conference!!! :)
